Around Wales

John Taylor's A Short Relation of a Long Journey (London, 1653).
This is an account of his journey around Wales in the summer of 1652. Taylor was travelling at a significant historical time, with a real interest in people and places.
His writing is mined by literature scholars and historians for contextual gems, but most people are unaware of this larger-than-life traveller and poet, famous for rowing down the Thames in a paper boat.
